Laura McNealey, AMFT

Laura McNealey is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #131557) who provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults and couples in our Mill Valley office and via telehealth. Laura believes in an integrative approach to healing, helping clients understand how their lived experiences and thought-patterns influence their sense of self and impact their relationships.  Laura is passionate about helping clients uncover and draw on their inner strengths in order to overcome obstacles interfering with the life they desire. She believes that we cannot heal what we do not know and works with clients to better understand themselves and gain tools to identify and achieve both growth and resilience.

Laura’s style is non-judgmental, warm, engaging and her approach is client-centered and strengths-based. She believes it is through collaboration between clinician and client on the uncovering of strengths and challenges and the development of therapy goals that sustainable healing and growth occur. Laura’s integrative and trauma-informed approach draws on a variety of modalities from Attachment Theory to Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR Therapy to deliver tailored solutions to meet each client’s individual needs. She has worked with clients on issues including healing childhood trauma, depression and anxiety, ADHD, compulsive patterns, suicidality, life transitions, substance use, identity development, relationship challenges, as well as parenting skills.
