Tanisha Hook, AMFT

Tanisha (she/her) is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 136442) working with older children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in our San Francisco and Mill Valley locations, as well as via Zoom for California residents. She strives to provide a compassionate and supportive space for clients navigating life’s challenges.

Spring 2025: Tanisha is offering a therapy group for teen girls in our Mill Valley office.

Tanisha brings an integrative approach to her work, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic/body work, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices. This holistic orientation allows her to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs, nurturing deep self-awareness and meaningful growth.

She specializes in helping people with adverse childhood experiences, interpersonal relationship challenges, and those connected to the adoption and foster care system. Tanisha also supports clients in periods of life transition, postpartum challenges, and those facing the profound grief of infant or child loss.

Prior to joining Headlands Psychotherapy Group, Tanisha worked in diverse settings including the Sausalito School District, Paradigm Treatment Center, Kaiser Telecare, and Amrita Eating Disorder Clinic. These experiences informed her ability to connect with people from all walks of life and offer individualized support to each client.
