Renee Taylor, AMFT
Renee (she/her) is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT#pending) who provides therapy to young children and their families, adults, and couples through Headlands’ San Francisco and Mill Valley offices, as well as via telehealth for clients who reside in California.
Her approach is person-centered, relational, and strengths-focused with an attachment-based, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed lens. She brings warmth, curiosity, and openness to her work, as she explores clients’ current needs and supports.
Renee trained with UCSF’s intensive practice-based Infant-Parent Program providing therapy to young children (ages 0-3) and their caregivers, which gave her a strong foundation in the principles of infant and early childhood mental health and development. She has experience providing support to clients around a range of needs including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, attachment complications, PTSD, addiction, grief, and adjustment to life transitions. At the base of all her work is a belief that healing takes place in relationships and that individuals innately have the capacity for growth and change.
As a Black, mixed race, queer woman who grew up in a rural and underserved community, Renee appreciates the power of representation and the importance of humility around cultural, socio-economic, and identity-related issues. She invites clients to bring their authentic self and lived experience into the therapy room.
